Two-year Mentorship and Professional Development program for NC Teachers

Invision offers a two-year mentorship and professional development program to allow licensed North Carolina teachers to teach students with visual impairments. Any teacher with a current license is eligible to apply. Participants will complete professional development and be provided an experienced Invision mentor while working with students with visual impairments.

During the two years, participants will work full time in caseloads that allow them to learn and develop their skills. Mentors will provide opportunities for participants to observe them and work together on lesson planning, co-teaching, and support.

Incentive bonuses will be paid after 90 days, 1 year, and 2 years of work. Performance bonuses are available beginning year 3.

“My daughter delights in her time with her instructor…together they have partnered to discuss strategies for living a life with a disability. She has empowered my daughter to speak up and never be afraid, to navigate the classroom and life. For that, I am forever grateful.”

Elizabeth

Parent of Student with Visual Impairment

“I would like to thank you all your help when I lost more than 90% of my vision. I truly cannot express adequately my appreciation for the education, the care, and the information that helped me to once again become mostly independent and able and willing to socialize in spite of an entirely new set of circumstances.”
